Windows 10: Taskbar refreshes everytime I open the File Explorer within an application/browser.

So, first off, this supposed glitch is present since the days of Windows 7, so it's not only me or my computer. In fact, this occured on every Windows PC I have used or seen.


Say, I want to save or insert a file from/into a browser or Discord/Skype, or open an image in Photoshop. The computer hangs for about 3-4 seconds and when it finally opens, it still lags behind a few seconds and all my taskbar icons disappear. At this point, the PC noticeably slows down until the icons have fully reloaded.

I do have to note that the taskbar only refreshes when inserting or opening a file from within an application and NOT when I open the File Explorer as it is (for example from the taskbar shortcut).


Now, I confess it indeed is my PC slowing down there, but what I don't understand is why does the taskbar refresh? I've seen it refresh even on gaming PCs. This still occurs even on the latest Windows 10 versions, no matter the edition.


Is anyone else experiencing this?

problem switching from browser to file explorer

cannot switch automaticaly from browser to file explorer without minimazing browser window and pressing file explorer logo on taskbar, and versi versa, making extra steps everytime. Chat once with microsoft that reinstall Windows 10.

I've tried your recommendation and sadly it hasn't worked.

I am using a file explorer Shortcut in my taskbar. But I can't open it with Windows Key + E Either, it just refreshes my taskbar like before.

I have added AVG and ever since I did things started to slow down and stuff got weird, like this for example. I have uninstalled it but I keep finding some leftover parts of AVG. It's not in Uninstall Programs and Features.
