I have to start Task Manager, find Windows Explorer in the list of processes, and restart it multiple times a day in order to get my taskbar to show up when switching display modes, and also most of the time after waking my laptop from sleep. Until I do this, the taskbar -- set to be seen using the Peek function -- disappears altogether.

This didn't start happening until a month or so ago so is probably Windows Update related -- one of the many reasons I hate having updates forced upon hardware that I own.

Any ideas about ways to fix this or updates I should try uninstalling?

    Thanks.

    :)

  2. Multiple display taskbar

    Hi Justin,

Let me guide you now on how to set up multiple displays on a Windows 10 computer. You may follow the steps below to configure the correct display settings for your device.

    Here are the steps:

    • Right-click on your desktop.
    • Select Display settings, then different options will be displayed.
    • You can either choose Duplicate these displays to sync your activities from the original monitor with the second one or
Extend these displays to be able to do multiple activities using separate displays.
    • After choosing your preferred option, click on Apply.

Let us know if you have any further questions.

  3. Windows 10 Bug - Start menu doesn't display with multiple screens (works with single display)

The problem: When using multiple screens the the clinking the window icon on the task bar doesn't open the start menu (also, new notifications and Search windows don't work ). When I boot up in single screen mode everything works fine, this only happens
with multiple displays (displays are connected thru a port replicator, all equipment is dell ). I have updated all my video, bios and other drivers to their latest versions but that didn't fix the issue. I tried all the suggestion from the following websites:

Start Menu does not open or Start Button not working in Windows 10

SOLVED: Windows 10 Start Menu and Modern Apps Do Not Function – Up & Running Technologies, Tech How To's

But none of these worked. I did find a temporary work around: If you switch the displays to duplicate the switch back to extend display it will fix the problem but you have to redo this every time you logon.

    Update:

Found another work around, if I set my laptop screen as my primary display then it will works (even between reboots). So it looks like the issue occurs when you have multiple displays and the primary
display is no longer the laptop screen.

    This is definitely a bug.

    Multiple display taskbar

In this case, we may need to check if your computer can properly detect the second monitor by unplugging and then re-plugging the cables. Press the
Windows key + P button on your keyboard to see all the available options for multiple displays. You can select Duplicate or Extend to see if there will be a display on your second monitor.

Make sure to download the latest graphics driver from the manufacture's website of your device model by following the steps below:

    • Go to This PC.
    • Right-click, then select Properties.
    • Click on Device Manager.
    • Choose Display adapters.
    • Check if there is any available updates for your computer model.

We'll be expecting for your update.
