Windows 10: Taskbar - system date and time - hover date display and click for calendar/notifications...

Is there a setting somewhere that enables the system date/time behavior to be the same on all monitors? I often hover over the date/time to show the day of the week above it. I also like to click the date to show the calendar and toast notifications above the calendar. In Windows 11, this behavior does not appear to be activated on all monitors. I have the Display Settings to "Extend these displays". The Taskbar Setting is configured to "Show my taskbar on all displays". The hover and click behavior only works from the Primary display.

Can I display the current date, as well as the time in the taskbar, by default ( ie without having to hover on the time)?

unfortunately there currently is no option to display the date on the taskbar when using minimal taskbar size.

if you hover the mouse over the time, the date and day should be displayed in a pop up.

you can make the suggestion to the development team using the feedback hub (winkey+F), hopefully it is a function they can add easily and quickly.

you can change the format of the time and date in

settings -> time & language -> date & time

click on "date and time regional formatting"

click on " change data formats"

choose formats from the dropdown options

the formats used on the taskbar are - short date and short time

(long date is shown in the pop up when hovering over the time)

 

Display Date on Taskbar

unfortunately the date will only be displayed if you either

1) increase the size of the task bar or

2) turn off small icons (which makes the taskbar slight larger

right click on taskbar and select taskbar settings, turn off "use small taskbar buttons.

the date is also displayed briefly when you hover the mouse over the time.
