Taskhostw.exe suddenly uses large amounts of memory randomly

Taskhostw.exe uses high memory and this happened just recently, yesterday the laptop was working fine. But now sometimes the laptop suddenly began to slow down and by opening task manager to see the culprit It was taskhostw.exe, the memory usage was up to 800,000kThis seemed highly unusual since msmpeng.exe is the only one that I know uses high memory which was only 140,000k+ But taskhostw.exe suddenly using tons of memory out of no whereseemed suspicious, however from time to time taskhostw.exe would stop using high memory and go back to its original 20,000K but it would go skyrocket back to

    :)

applemobiledeviceservice.exe using a large amount of memory

    Original Title: Applemobiledeviceservice.exe

I am running XP Professional and have MSE installed on the computer as my antivirus software.
I have 2 GB of memory and recently added SpeedyPC Pro to improve performance. Today my PC was slow and opened Task Manager and saw that applemobiledeviceservice.exe was using a large amount of memory.
I think my daughter added years back but she no longer uses this computer.
Do I need it? If not, how do I remove it?

    Cheers

taskhostw memory exception error on shutdown

Windows displays a taskhostw memory exception error on shutdown. The error message cannot be captured. On reboot, I scanned it with Neuber and the file is genuine and not a virus. How can this be fixed?
