Windows 10: TCP/IPv4 Properties

Hello . I have one question .


I have currently a DNS server addresses configured inside the router settings configuration .


the question is : is better also set in the "use the following DNS server addresses " the same DNS server addresses that are set in the router config in the Windows 10 TCP/IPv4 properties ?


or is better keep the Windows 10 settings in the default "Obtain an IP Address automatically " ?


resume : is better set the DNS servers in both router and Windows 10 TCP/ipv4 settings ? or is better only set this DNS ´s addresses only inside the router configuration , and then leave in the Windows 10 TCP/IPv4 in the default "Obtain an IP Address automatically " ?

I go this way

• ncpa.cpl
  
• Click Ethernet
  
• Properties
  
• Scroll down to TCP/IPv4 and click it
  

Too many steps

Assume it's for a PC with a single NIC.

 

VPN TCP/IPv4 properties

So far in Windows 10 I have not been able to open the TCP/IPv4 properties of a VPN, whether newly created or created before upgrading to Windows 10.

This is very much needed because in the Advanced properties, I need to be able to disable "Use default gateway on remote network". With this enabled it cuts off all other network paths while the VPN is connected. With this disabled, you can still connect
to other network resources. And it should also be disabled so that you don't have your local internet browsing go through the remote system but through your own local network.

 

how to add other DNS to Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).

I followed the steps given

• I clicked the Networking tab and the followed items to click
  on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4),
  and I clicked on Properties but nothing happened.
• The Advanced does not appear so I'm not able to add a DSN

Can you offer further advice ? Thx
