TCP Ports aren't allowing access from the outside but still show they are working in the command prompt. We have an app developed in Android we put in a handheld device. The handheld accesses SQL server on the laptop. We can't seem to get the handheld to connect to the laptop. Have done this on several other Laptops in other parts of the country but not mine...and I am the one testing and launching. We used an online service to try to access the TCP ports and it says none available. Yet when we look at the command prompt, it shows many available and working. We have tried everything we

Allow Ports access through Windows Firewall.

    • Ports 0 to 1023 are Well-Known Ports.
    • Ports 1024 to 49151 are Registered Ports (often registered by a software developer to designate a particular port for their application)

443TCPHTTPS - HTTP Protocol over TLS/SSL (encrypted transmission)

That's all I can find.

You can try to click "Allow an app or...." if your app is listed there.

Unable to reset TCP port number to default settings

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

We understand that you want to reset the TCP port to default port settings, we will look into this for you.

You may try resetting the port using the netsh command and see if that helps. Refer the steps mentioned below:

    1. Type Command Prompt in the search bar on the
      Taskbar.
    2. Right click on Command Prompt icon and select
      Run as administrator.
    3. Now, past the command and hit Enter: netsh int ip reset
    4. Restart the computer.

However, we do have a dedicated forum for issues concerning TCP Ports, let me point you in the right direction, where you may get further assistance, if the issue persists. I would suggest you to post your query in
TechNet forums, where we have support
    professionals to address your query.
