Windows 10: Teams issue running on Windows 10

I have been working with MS Teams support for over 6 weeks and they are telling me now that it's an OS issue and not an application issue.

The issue is that when I try to connect to a meeting from the Teams client or Edge browser it does not work, but if I connect from Chrome it does.

I have uninstalled teams and deleted all files in C:\Users\hackett\AppData\Local\Microsoft\*teams* and have reinstalled and still get this error: desktop-1f986112-a07c-4feb-99ac-47b6a72f6da7 Error code - caa70004 There's a more permanent way to sign in to Microsoft Teams. If you're having trouble completing the process, talk to your IT admin

I spun up a new Win 10 1909 VM and installed the client and it worked, but with a VM same OS version that has been running for a while it doesn't work.

I reformatted my Laptop and reinstalled the OS, my apps and Teams and the client works.

Reformatting all of my users machines to get this working obviously is not an option.

From the machine that is failing we ran a wireshark trace and see a number of Malformed packets on the port coming UDP 3478

I have turned off the Firewall, removed our Fortclient security software and still have the same issue.

New install Windows 10 (issue solved)

It's good that you're not experiencing any issues. Unfortunately many folks are, a quick Google search will show the same info im offering the OP.

It's basically what I mentioned above, small issues here and there ,but nothing to end your day.. for the most part.

I know it's anecdotal, but for my experience 95% of the time it's perfectly fine. The issues I've run into wouldn't be enough for me to roll back , but they would be enough (had I not installed it yet) ,to avoid it for another couple weeks which is why I'm suggesting it to the OP

keep in mind, as of recently, the FCU is installed on 5% of devices roughly.....

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
