    Hello tech savvy friends, I come to you in a time of great need. Recently during a gaming session on steam, my computer froze up. Afterwards it booted up normal, but I found that one of my hard drives was inaccessible. My F: drive was marked as F:\? with a blue question mark next to it. This I was informed means that the disk is not initialized in my PC, after an attempt to re-initialize it I was met with an I/O input-output error. Several guides online attempted to get me to fix the issue using diskpart and cmd but neither of these resolved the issue as errors were encountered such as this one in diskpart. "DiskPart has referenced an object which is not up-to-date.
    Refresh the object by using the RESCAN command.
    If the problem persists exit DiskPart, then restart DiskPart or restart the
    computer." I would like to point out that when clicking on properties for the device it says the device is functioning properly but comes up as an unknown device, and it list all it's drivers as up to date.
    Other guides suggested I changed the USB cables connecting my HDD which I assume means the data transfer cables ATA connected to the HDD, so in an effort to identify if this was the case I changed the cables around between my hard drives and discovered they both work fine. Is there a way I can save this hard drive? Is it damaged in a way I can verify or troubleshoot somehow? Any help resolving this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

    That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

    At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

    I checked gigabyte's site on my GA-M57 and it didn't say anything about b3 stepping update, but all of the x3 chips are b3 steppings, so just use the x3 support bios if available.

    Any tech support (from anybody) that you did not initiate is a scam.

    microsoft (and any other legitimate tech company) WILL NOT call you unless YOU have previously arranged it.

    microsoft error messages NEVER suggest you call a number.

    uninstall any software that they told you to install. and read
