Windows 10: Technical support called me about hackers accessing my ip.

I'm curious to know if this is valid. They showed me all the information I needed to see. Provided me the rightlicense id for my laptop. Gave me all the right info. If Microsoft isn't free how am I suppose to check to see if the case number they gave me is valid? I called the number back that I was given to reach the support agent. I called it to make sure it was right and it was. How do I verify that these people are legit? I spoke to 3 different people.

There was a phone number to call for support. Should I be worried that the hacker has my IP address?

I downloaded some malware and when I started my computer a window that looked like it was from Microsoft asking for my license key to prove that I bought Windows. There was a phone number to call for support. They gave me a key to enter and took over my
computer to help me fix the problem . After a time I wondered if I was actually talking to a Microsoft Tech so I hung up. I cancelled my credit and bank card and took my computer to a tech to clean out the malware. Should I be worried that the hacker has my
IP address?
