  1. TechUtilities

I just purchased a new computer last week. In trying to set up my email accounts one of them, a gmail account, said there was a problem. Looking into it further I got a notification about the error with two choices to click on. I clicked on "fix it'. Another notification came up with an error code.

I googled the error code and up came TechUtilities.

Wanting to keep things in order with my new computer I pulled up TechUtilities and fell right into "it".

I bought their deal and from there things got really bad. There were two options. Install it yourself or have their "tech-guy" handle it by remote.

I downloaded per his instructions but he did not use the correct nomenclature. Almost nothing he said made reference to was on the downloaded screen. He seemed to be unaware that there was an applet that went along with it.

Finally got the applet up and he said wait for an "id" and a "code" and "pass it to him". I assumed he meant by-way of the applet and filled in both numbers. When I clicked on connect nothing happened.

I went back to Parker on the Chat screen and told him. He said to wait for new number and to "pass it" to him. Nothing. No new numbers.

So, now that 45 minutes has gone by I loose patience. I tell him again that no new numbers have arrived and give him the first numbers I received.

He tells me to input the numbers again. I get a notification that all has to be downloaded again because everything has expired.

I go back and tell him to "forget about it", that I'll try to run the scan myself.

    Couldn't do it.

And that it where I am at this moment.

I read some cautions from others on this blog. I don't think he's got anything but my card number but I don't know. Never actually let him connect with my computer.

I plan to contact my bank and have them keep TechUtilities away from my account. What else should I do? Comments will be appreciated.

    :)

    TechUtilities Scan

I do not want TechUtilities to run scan when I sign in after a couple of hours away.

  3. TechUtilities Failure

The first place to diagnose this should be the makers of TechUtilities. They are the best person to solve the issues related to their product. This should be your starting point.
