Windows 10: Tell Windows I'm busy, stop using so much CPU in background

    Tell Windows I'm busy, stop using so much CPU in background


    I need lots of CPU time while bouncing MIDI to audio, and when Windows is very busy in the background I get lag in the rendered audio.

    Is there a way to tell Windows stop doing all those ad-hoc things (System) so I can work? At sort of CPU aimed Focus Assist.

    When Windows System stays busy like that I have to reboot to stop it. System idle at 30% is inconvenient.

    And Resource Manager doesn't give detail about the various System processes CPU usage.

    3d display stopping in background

    When I have another window in the forground, the background ATI TOOL .24b stops rendering. I sometimes want to stress the card while I am doing other things. I am running 2 monitors and enableing it to render in the "background" would be fantastic!

    Currently it only renders if I move another window around, as soon as I stop moving it, it stops rendering.

    Not sure what I'm looking at. Though when I do go to Options and then CPU it lists my CPU
    as Intel Pentium M processor 1.73 GHz, and then under that it lists speed: 799.9 MHz
    and then features and cache size.I ran the benchmark test and don't understand all
    those numbers, but while testing I checked CPUZ and it still says it is running at 800 MHz.

    Windows store background task 100% cpu

    Thanks for the generl advice, but there isnt a store service this is a background task (backgroundtaskhost.exe), the fact a background task is allowed to use 100% cpu is clearly a bug, but anyway this is most likley scheduled task but there are no obvious
    candidates in the list of tasks.
