    Temporary black screen on startup


    Every time I boot my pc, I get a flash of a black screen for about 3 seconds exactly when the windows startup chime is. It is annoying to say th eleast but I think this might be leading to a bigger software/hardware problem.

    @wolf2009: No, Loading screen not disabled. Would that have any effect on the 3 temporary black screens after windows loads? I'll give it a try tonight though.

    @tigger69: I think I might have another AGP card to try. Do you think it could be the video card, as after about 5 minutes, everything is ok. If I can dig an old 6800GT out of storage tonight, I'll try it.

    Could you please answer few questions:


    • When you say “Now, nothing is on my desktop” what exactly are you referring to?

    • Are you getting black screen after Sign in?
