Hello. I usually don't have problems with my laptops as I have an easy time troubleshooting them but this one has me completely stumped.

My laptop is running low on storage so I went to see what I could clear out for the trash, and it turns out this section called "Temporary internet files" takes up 24.1 gigabytes worth of data on my laptop. This took me by surprise as I've never seen something that monstrous on my laptop before, so I immediately tried to delete it, only for the size to still be there.

I went down a long rabbit hole of research have tried: -Deleting it in disk cleanup -Cleaning it in disk cleanup -Deleting my temporary Internet files in "internet options" from the control panel -Clearing all my chrome cache -Clearing all the media cache on my adobe programs -Using Malwarebytes and windows anti virus defender for scans -Deleting the temporary Internet files shortcut folder

I even tried to use Windirstat to search everything ok my computer but there's nothing that big my laptop. All the temporary internet files on it were of reasonable size, coming it around 6-32 megabytes.

Nothing. Works. It's even gone up since the last time I checked to 24.2 gbs. What is going on? Is it a false reading? A virus? I have no idea and it's frustrating me a lot because I was working on an adobe premiere project and now this is taking up my time. There aren't a lot of other places I can turn to as this doesn't seem to be a common problem. I have an Asus laptop btw.

How To Delete Temporary Internet Files And Temporary Files In Windows 10

    Hi Anup,

    Thank you for your reply.

    I would respond as follows:

    1. No, I have not installed any third party applications to delete Temporary Internet Files or Temporary Files.

    2. Yes, as mentioned in my message, I had chcked the relevant boxes for Temporary Internet Files and Temporary Files before performing Disk Clean-up. But still the files won't delete.

Your suggestion is about deleting Browsing history. I don't have any issues with deleting Browsing history. It's about deleting Temporary Internet Files and Temporary Files. Browsing history can be deleted via Internet Options or from the option available
in the Hub of Microsoft Edge.

Any help on how to delete Temporary Internet Files and Temporary Files would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards.
