Windows 10: Temporary Internet FIles Storage question

Greetings,

I have my Temporary Internet Files storage set to 250MB, but when I recently analysed TIF storage with CCleaner it said the storage was 654MB. Is Windows 10 not doing its job or does it take time to reduce automatically?

The operative word is Temporary, lasting for only a limited period of time; not permanent.

The guide Settings + personalization

Temporary files– Files created and deleted during normal use, including Internet Explorer history, cookies, and temporary storage. Tap
Delete to delete unused temporary files. Tap
Internet Explorer settings to go to browser settings (#2 ignored)

" Why can't the Temporary Files be deleted and I delete them?"

The temporary files you can't delete ALL 50Mb[less than 1%] hazarding a guess maybe they're ACTUALLY being used

You have asked the same question twice and even Nokia Microsoft have failed to convince you.

On every platform Android/ IOS temporary files are created

So what now?

 

IE Locks entire phone up

This is probably happening because IE temp files is taking a lot of space on your device memory. You can move IE temporary files to your storage card by following this steps:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\shell Folders

Change:

"Cache"="\Storage\Temporary Internet Files"

To:

"Cache"="\Storage Card\Temporary Internet Files


Just make sure that you create the "Temporary Internet files" folder on your storage card. Do the same for the Cookies and History folder. This will help you save internal memory. Make sure that you reboot your device after making the changes.
