Windows 10: Temporary Loss of Keyboard Control While Processor Runs

I temporarily lose control of the keyboard only while the processor runs and the light on the front blinks. When it stops whirring and blinking, and I hear the click, I instantly have control again. This is maddening. It was also doing this with my mouse until I changed the USB port for the mouse. I'm running out of USB ports. This is ridiculous. Why is it doing this and how do I fix it?

I would suggest you to run hardware and drivers troubleshooter to help you with the problem.



Try the following steps to run the troubleshooter:

  Click "Search" and type "Troubleshooting" without quotes and hit enter.

  Click “Hardware and Sound”

• 
  Click next to run the troubleshooter.

• Press Windows key + X on the keyboard.
• Click on Control panel.
• Type “Troubleshooting” without quotes in the Control panel
  search box.
• Click on Troubleshooting and click on View all.
• Click on Hardware and Devices troubleshooter and follow the on-screen instructions.

If the issue still persists, Uninstall and Reinstall the Keyboard Drivers.

  Press “Windows Logo” + “X” keys on the keyboard.

  Click on “Device Manager” from that list.
  
• 
  Search for the Keyboard from the device list, right click on it and then select “Uninstall”. On the un-installation window, if you have an option: “Delete the driver software for this device” you may select
  that and then remove the corrupted drivers from the computer.

  Follow the on-screen instructions to complete it and then restart the computer if prompted.
