Windows 10: Temporary User Profile after removing ssd in Windows 10 laptop and plugging into Windows 11...

I had to remove my ssd from my Windows 10 laptop and plug into a Windows 11 pc as an external ssd. When accessed the external ssd through the pc, the File Explorer loaded a while and then I could read and see all files there.Then I plugged back into my laptop as it is my boot drive from factory. Now it keeps logging me in as a temporary user and I cant logout from temp user and I cant open my files.Please Help.

As per the issue description you are facing issue in editing some settings from a temporary profile. You need to login to your original (Administrator) profile to change those settings.

I would suggest you to change the account type to administrator, if it is not and see if it helps. Try the steps provided below to change the account type.

• Login with the temporary profile.
• Press Windows key + X.
• Select Control Panel from the list.
• Select Large icons from the view by drop down menu.
• Click on User Accounts.
• Click on Change Account type.
• Select Administrator radio button and click OK.

User Lost. Temporary profile Win10

Hello I went to try to follow the instructions here to fix the temp profile issue I am having with Windows ten after upgrading from 7 a few months ago and I got to the step of the registry ....I don't see the user profile lists as in your pictures I see the below items in my pictures which look completely different then yours. I don't want to miss anything up as I have both of my baby's last three years of pictures on the laptop that I need to get to. Please help!
