    Terrible Wifi On PC

Had a PC for a year and had the most inconsistent wifi imaginable. Have a tp-link network adapter and its so bad that sometimes I literally cannot even connect to the network. Ethernet is not an option because I am upstairs. I have no idea what to do. Yes, my drivers have been reinstalled etc, is there any alternative to ethernet besides network adapters?

    :)

  2. Wifi is terrible on my pc, but only on my pc.

My wifi is terrible on my pc. It disconnects randomly and the signal strength is always low. On my xbox I get around 50 mbps, but on my pc I rarely get above 1 mbps.

  3. PC Build Steps

Ok just because I like steps i am going to create some steps. Please give me the stamp of approval/disapproval
    • Install system in case
      • Remember to connect SSD and optical to same SATA ports on motherboard
    • Turn on PC
    • setup HDD
    • run blend test in prime95 for 30-60 min
      • run realtemp at the same time
    • While in Prime95 test
      • if CPU goes above 70c in RealTemp, I have a leaky CPU
      • if my system locks up or blue screens, there is an instability in the system somewhere
      • if my system does not lock up or blue screen, my CPU is not damaged and I am in the clear!
    What do you guys think??

  4. Terrible Wifi On PC

    Question about WiFi and PC

Hello. I just set up my first WiFi network on my Windows PC in my home, but I want to make sure that I am doing everything properly as it relates to connecting.

On a Microsoft support page, it states the following on how to connect to your WiFi:

Connect a PC to your wireless network

    1. Select the Network or icon in the notification area.
    2. In the list of networks, choose the network that you want to connect to, and then select Connect.
    3. Type the security key (often called the password).
    4. Follow additional instructions if there are any.
When I turn on my PC, I notice that I get Internet access immediately. I don't need to follow steps 1-4 at all. I do not have the "Connect Automatically" box checked.

Why don't I have to click on the Connect button like step 2 states? I want to make sure that my WiFi is secure, also.

    Thank you.
