The difference between Fibre, Satellite and T1/T3 internet

I found some interesting information about Fibre, T1/T3 and satellite internet. Both of this used to be the most expensive, fastest and greatest for networking like internet but fibre seem to be the fastest, most affordable and the best nowdays. I wonder why ? Has anyone use either one of the best network service in early days ? All comments are welcome ?
