Windows 10: Text disappeared, unable to do recommended solutions because there is no text

Given that this started happening today, right after a Windows 10 update, the recommended solution was:

In this case, corrupted system files might be one of the possible reasons why you're having this issue. We suggest that you use the recovery option to revert your PC to an earlier point, called a system restore point. Restore points are generated when you install a new app, driver, or Windows update.


Restoring won’t affect your personal files, but it will remove apps, drivers, and updates installed after the restore point was made.


To use this recovery option, kindly follow these steps:

1. Select the Start button, type control panel and then choose it from the list of results.
2. Search Control Panel for Recovery.
3. Select Recovery > Open System Restore > Next.
4. Choose the restore point related to the app, driver, or update that was recently installed, and then select Next > Finish.

If you’re not seeing any restore points, it might be because system protection isn’t turned on. To check, go to the Control Panel, search for Recovery, and then select Recovery > Configure System Restore > Configure and make sure Turn on system protection is selected.

However, I can't do this because there is no text and therefore no way for me to tell what I'm clicking on. I've been able to get as far as Recovery by using the search option and clicking the icon the monitor with the clock and backwards green arrow but once I'm there, I only see three administration icons with no text. No idea which of them are which. I've tried using the search function but it doesn't produce anything. Can anyone help?


It was recommended later on in the thread that if using a restore point failed, then performing a clean install of Windows was the only option left. Since I'm still not sure that, as long as I knew where to click, the restoration option would actually be a failure, I'm hesitant to go to that length. I'm in university right now actively taking classes via zoom, though in which the chat function is also unusable, given that I can't read any of it, so time is really of the essence, and I would appreciate any help that anyone can offer.

Increasing text in an image

Happy Holidays everyone!

I downloaded a picture from the internet and it's a step-by-step guide to installing Arch Linux.

It's a large picture, but the words are very tiny. When I tried printing it out, the words were even smaller. Is it possible to enlarge the text?

I'd like to print it out, because I plan on installing Arch on three different systems. To me, this is very handy

Do you heard of software which can read text in any application and convert text to mp3, wav, ogg or vox files? I known one - Alive Text to Speech , but it is not a free software, i can use it for 20 days.

Do you recommend a free software?
