Windows 10: Text keeps disapearing in photo description after typing for ~1-3 seconds. Windows 11...

I use the description box on photos to categorize different them and make them easier to find. However, I have recently ran into an issue where the first few things I type will just completely disappear after a few seconds. This happens on almost every photo. After the text has been undone once it won't happen again until I move onto the next photo or close the photo and reopen it. If there is no text in the box when I start typing it will just undo the first 2-3 words I manage to type in that time. If there is already text in the box it will only undo any new text in that time and place my cu

Adding text to Windows 10 Photos

Add the 'Paint' Ap to taskbar.

• Start … lower left corner.
• All aps
• Windows … accessories … right-click ‘Paint’ … left click ‘add to taskbar’
• Color palette now in taskbar at bottom of desktop

Adding text to photo

• Click/open ‘Paint’ ap
• ‘File’ … ‘Open’ … browse to select photo to adjust
• Click and scroll-mouse to reduce size
• ‘Home’ … click on big A to prepare for paste or typing in text.
  
• Left-click on picture and drag to set text box for text. … OR … Left-click on picture to set upper-left corner, ready for text. Box will automatically re-size to the text you are about to enter.
• Enter text … use return for next line.
• Click-cursor over text to change “Color 1” or font size
• Right-click and ‘paste’ … or … Control-tab and ‘V’ to paste in text taken from another source.
• You can change size of box around text.
• Can un-do or re-do changes.
• DON”T click again outside the box … keep working on the text until you are absolutely satisfied. You can’t get back to this text! If you do make an irrecoverable mistake, re-open the JPEG and don’t save the bummer file when prompted.
• ‘Save’ over over old file … OR … ‘save-as’ to uniquely save the file as ‘JPEG’
• DONE!

 

windows 10 photo app crashes after approx 10 seconds

Do you receive any error message before crashing?

I suggest you to try the steps below if you have not yet tried.

I would suggest you to reset Windows store.

• 
  Right click on start and select ‘RUN’.
  
• 
  In the Run window, type WSReset.exe and click “Ok”.
  

If the Photos app is the only one crashing, it could be a problem with the Photos app database. To reset the database, perform the following:

1. Press windows button + R

2. Type: %appdata%\..\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.Photos_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState

3. Delete all the contents of that folder.
