Windows 10: text on the display is not clear due to horizontal lines in my lenovo loq laptop

I have updated my Windows 11 on my laptop. After that, the text on display was not clear. I have updated the BIOS and display adapter drivers, changed scaling and resolutions, and finally reset my laptop. still, the problem is there.

Lenovo 14s display - unreadable with horizontal and vertical lines.

Today my Lenovo 14s screen is now showing all horizontal and vertical lines, and is absolutely unreadable. Even the red Lenovo boot screen is all horizontal lines, and unreadable. Suggestions. By the way, the warranty expired on October 31, 2023, like just ten days ago. *Banghead Not that it really matters, but Win 10 64 2H22.

Thanks, mate. I'll try these suggestions tomorrow morning. - - - Updated - - - I was able to boot up into Windows, no problem, but the display worked ONLY on the secondary monitor. I tried two cases. (1) HDMI cable directly into laptop. (2) Plugged into a docking station via USB-C cable, with the secondary monitor plugged into the docking station. In fact, I'm writing this post using the laptop.*Smile What is weird (or maybe not) is that the laptop's own display is stuck on the Lenovo boot up red rectangle screen in case (1), with all blurry vertical and horizontal lines with different color. In case (2), there are just the blurry lines. All this is very nice, but my primary use for this laptop is out of the house, where I can't drag along a 24" secondary display that needs AC (or mains) power.*Redface

 

Horizontal grey lines on display

Hi

There's are strange grey lines appearing on a computer when it is connected to a terminal server. The display on the right is from an external monitor, the one on the left ist from the Laptop. When the external display gets turned off, the lines appear on the Laptop's display. However, when the user starts Word directly on the Laptop, there are no lines.

When connections are initiated from other computers or other users, there is no display issue either. Also the lines cannot be seen from another computer via isl light client (remote-support tool).





What irritates me most is the fact that the lines are not completely from left to right but are all intterupted on the white background regardless of the window border or the page layout from the shown Word document. Also that the picture is a screenshot and didn't need to be done with a camera to see the lines is strange after they didn't show up during remote support.

Any suggestions concerning the most probable cause - graphics card failure, driver issue or something else?
