Windows 10: Text select cursor is not showing up on its true position.

My normal cursor works fine and clicks where its supposed to click. But at the moment my cursor changes to the text select cursor, it marks to the upper left of it and i have no clue why, tried driver updating, checked if it hat something to do with the image file of the cursor.

Select Whole Line Of Text Regardless Of Cursor Position

Is there any windows keyboard shortcut to select a whole line of text regardless of the cursor position? I know of similar commands like CTRL-A for selecting everything, or SHIFT-End/Home for selecting a line but the cursor has to be at the very beginning or end of said line.

Is there any shortcut that will select the whole line while ignoring the current position of the cursor? I might just setup an AutoHotKey script but was curious if there was an existing command

 

vb.net select text from active cursor point in different window

hello all - working on a dictation application and looking for some guidance as far as selecting text from a cursor point in a window outside of the applications form. I'll clarify a bit: The application types at the current cursor point using sendkeys() as you speak.. and I'm trying to handle commands such as "select word" which should select the word to the right of the current cursor point. I know how to handle selecting text within an application, but am looking to be pointed in the right direction for information on selecting text from say microsoft word etc. but keep in mind the goal for the application is to be universal for use within any EMR, word processor, web browser etc.

Mouse cursor displayed without offset

When the mouse cursor changes to one that should be displayed with an offset (e.g., the hand cursor should be displayed slightly to the left so that the tip of the finger matches the mouse position) it is not and instead is drawn with the same position as the default pointer.

This is not specific to any program. Hovering a link the web browser shows the hand cursor to the right of where it should be. The cross-hair pointer in paint is down and to the right of where it should be. The I-beam cursor for text selection is to the right in any text editor, etc. (oddly, Steps Recorder's screen shots show the cursor in the correct position, though it was wrong when the recording was in progress.) Only the arrow pointer where the tip is in the top-left and needs no offset is correct.

I've tried the following:

• Rebooted the computer
  
• Removed the mouse from device manager, then reconnected it on a different USB port
  
• Checked for windows updates, installed, and rebooted
  
• Changed the mouse pointer settings (speed, appearance, DPI, etc.)
  
• Installed the latest drivers for the graphics card and rebooted.
  

With no effect on the issue.
