Windows 10: Text to speech only works when setting windows language in english

Hi.
I have Windows 10 in spanish as it is my native language. But I used text to speed daily in some programs in english with David's voice and all run with no problem.

Then one day suddenly the voice changed to Helena, which is in spanish. As you may imagine, reading in english with the spanish voice was a mess. I went to settings > text to speech and everything looked good (David selected). Also the programs settings were untouched. But I always heard Helena's voice no matter what voice I selected.

Then I switched Windows language from spanish to english and everything worked normal again. I could select whatever the voice and I could hear all of them. Switched again Windows language to spanish and again all stopped working and only Helena's voice could be heard.

What can I do to fix it? I still want to have my windows in spanish and use text to speech with David's voice. Has something changed? What do I have to do?

Speech-to-Text and text-to Speech language setting

Hi, I am using the following settings under region/language:

display language: english

region format, system locale, browser and search language: german

The Speech-to-Text and text-to Speech however is still in english which makes it very hard to say out names or write a german text message.

Is there some way I can change this specific feature to German while retaining the English Display language?

 

Can't change speech language to English (India).

today I installed win 10 1511 version and faced the same problem, the issue is just that we didn't installed the speech recognition for English India language pack.

to install the speech recognition follow the steps

• go to time and language and then click on region and
  language
• click on the English India language and click on options.
• under the language options download the Speech pack.
• after the feature has installed you can change the speech language from English us to English IN and Cortana runs efficiently

I suggest you to follow the below steps to check the language and speech settings in Cortana.

• Press Windows + I keys on the keyboard to open settings menu.
• Click on Time and language and select region and language.
  
• Under Language option, check which language is Set as default.
  
• If you find different language, you can change it by clicking on Add a language option.
  
• Select your preferred language (English UK) and click on
  Set as default under English UK language.
• Now, click on English UK and click on Options.
• Download the language, handwriting and speech packs.
• Now, click on Speech from the Time and language settings menu.
• Check if you are able to select the speech settings to English UK.
• After performing above steps, check if you are able to use Cortana.
