Windows 10: Thanks Microsoft! .... KB5034441 - Bitlocker issue

Hi All,By now i am sure there are many of you out there who have fallen trap to Microsoft's faulty windows update KB5034441 not installing or downloading with the error 0x80070643! Its been sitting in my windows 10 pro for workstation updates on A Dell Precision 5760 so i thought it was about time i fixed it. Please bear in mind that I have been wanting to rebuild this system for some time to clean things up a bit. Also bear in mind I have a second internal NVME drive which all my data is stored on and is synced to a OneDrive cloud location. All of my document folders etc where also redirected

Please bear in mind that I have been wanting to rebuild this system for some time to clean things up a bit. Also bear in mind I have a second internal NVME drive which all my data is stored on and is synced to a OneDrive cloud location. All of my document folders etc where also redirected to be stored on this drive as it was a larger capacity than the main system drive.

I, like many others others I'm sure discovered that the reason why this windows update failed to install or download is as a result of the windows recovery section on there main system drive being too small. I followed the following article:

Why Microsoft would release such a ridiculous update that required resizing the windows recovery section of a system disk is beyond me!

Anyhow, i digress a little.

The issue that Microsoft has caused!

Upon following the article in this link and allowing the AOMEI Partition Assistant to first resize my main OS partition (so i can later increase the windows recovery partition) the AOMEI tool required me to unlock the BitLocked drive (i never knew it was locked from the outset of purchasing this Laptop! I had no warning). I thought nothing of this and allowed the drive to be unlocked so AOMEI could do its stuff.

The AOMEI tool completed its task and the system rebooted.

After the system had rebooted that i received an error that the system could not access my storage drive (mentioned above). After looking around i discovered that although my main system drive had its BitLocked state removed the extra storage drives had not been unlocked. I discovered that Ok the unlock key for these drives will be in my Microsoft account that i had assigned this laptop to in the devices section. Unfortunately there are no codes! This is a MASSIVE problem because although yes, i have stored a lot in the OneDrive cloud there where also alot of files on the drive not stored in the OneDrive location. Hence they are not recoverable by reformatting the drive and resyncing the drive from OneDrive. I need help! Especially from you Microsoft as this is trigger by your own doing!. One, the issue you created around KB5034441, also most likely you because I never enabled Bitlocker abd finally i would have thought a locked system drive would never affect a secondary drive.

The only reference i have to be able to find something that will unlock these extra internal drives is the "Key ID:" but as i say i cannot find these in my online Microsoft account.

Desperate for any suggestions from anyone to help me unlock these drives before i finally rebuild this laptop most likely with BitLocker Off!

Bitlocker not activated, no need to install KB5034441

Q2: I understand that W11 Home editing would not allow activation 0f Bitlocker but it appears to be available If I have activated it, can I de activate, uninstall? And will that remove the need to install KB5034441???? I do not have the skills to do this and did not I need a qualification to buy your software

Yes, some OEM home versions come with Bitlocker, but if you deactivate it, you don't need to install KB5034441 either

Deactivate Bitlocker method:

Search for "Bitlocker" in the search bar and then launch the best match in the search results. This will open the BitLocker Drive Encryption window, where you will see all the listed drives. Next to the drive, you will see an option to turn off BitLocker Click on it and continue following the wizard's instructions.
