Windows 10: Thats one long sleep study

I was forging through some system files a couple of days ago, and I came across a file called Sleep Study Report Json. I copied it to Word and ran a review. 273 pages and over 822,000 characters talking about the battery in my computer, whether or not it's plugged in, and who's using it.Seemed kind of strange to me, so I typed in the keywords, and found discussions about it from 10 years ago. Anybody ever find out what it is?

Thank you for posting your concern. Sleep Study is a Windows utility that only runs on systems that support InstantGo. You can determine if your hardware and software support InstantGo by entering
powercfg /a into a Command Prompt window, and then looking to see if
Standby (Connected)is included in the list of sleep states:



Running Sleep Study requires Admin rights, Windows 8.1 or newer system, InstantGo support. You can refer to this

Microsoft Sleep Study Writing All Over C: Drive, an SSD

Thank you for your help. I did as you suggested and found the Windows host process (Rundll32) was starting 7 copies of cm106eye.exe, a USB sound device utility, but nothing else, especially nothing relevant to the Microsoft Sleep Study continually
writing 180,000 Bps to a file on my SSD. This computer does not have a battery, except in the UPS, and therefore, at this time, cannot use the outcome of a sleep study.

 

COVERT SLEEP STUDY-- (RETURNED TO VIRUS AND MALWARE )

Isn't Sleep Study a tool activated by the user to detect unusual power drain? Since this machine (Toshiba Satellite) really hasn't been shutting down properly, has a sleep study been conducted unbeknownst to THIS FAMILY? It seems that the more we look and
learn, the more we long for pencil and paper. Specifically- user-not-present-trace ETL File or UserNotPresentSession.etl ETL File Who is conducting "The Study" and how is it being determined that a User is not present? This has been from 11/24/16 at 6:45pm
