Windows 10: The age old question - My Ethernet speed is horrid.

I know many people have asked the same thing and now it’s my issue too. I just built a PC, unplugged the Ethernet cable in it’s a CAT6 and I hoped everything would work. YouTube, I get too quality pretty quick, but when it comes to downloading stuff, my speeds are doo doo. I’ve spent the last 3 days looking at forums about it for it to not bare fruit. I’ve mucked around in advanced network settings, I’ve kicked around in my Telstra Modem, I’ve don’t just about everything and my speed is horrid. Mainly I need better speed for Steam. My modem says it’s sending 1000mbps, my PC is set to use 100

Ethernet Link Speed at 10 Mbps

Hello, I have been having some slow ethernet. I went through the settings and in the properties for mt connection it says the link speed (transmit/receive) is at 10/10 Mbps. When I try wifi its capped at 520 Mbps but its very unstable most of the time, so I want to use ethernet. Here is some information about my situation:

• Using a Cat.6 Cable
  
• Tried reinstalling ethernet drivers
  
• I tried resetting the network through the settings
  
• I tried all of the steps on this page Fix Ethernet connection problems in Windows - Microsoft Support
  

I would really appreciate additional ideas on how to fix this problem.

Slow Download Speed

• I would suggest you to test the speed using any of the speed test website or app to confirm the upload and download speed.
• I also suggest you to reset the wireless router to check if that helps.
  
• You may plug in the Ethernet cable if available and check the speed.

Age Of Empires The Age Of Kings Multiplayer Crash

This issue might happen if the Windows Firewall is blocking the game from connecting to the LAN.

I suggest you to add the Age of Empires the Age of Kings, to the exception list of the Windows Firewall and check if the issue is resolved.

Follow the steps below.

• 
  Press Windows key + X key and select
  Control Panel.
  
• 
  Click on View by in the top right panel and select Small Icons.
  
• 
  Find and click on Windows Firewall.
  
• 
  Click on Allow an app or feature through Windows Firewall in the left panel.
  
• 
  Click on Change Settings, find and check the Age of Empires the Age of Kings box for both
  Public and Private Columns.
  
• 
  If Age of Empires the Age of Kings is not listed, then click on
  Add and select the installed path of the game.
