Windows 10: The application has failed because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect.

After admittedly messing up my computer pretty badly, I managed to stop it from constantly crashing and shutting down. The only issue is that now certain apps like Microsoft Edge will not open and instead pop up with this error.It also pops up when I open settings, though in that case I can still open the app but it still pops up several times in fact. I tried downloading a C++ something something but it didn't work. Can someone direct me on how to fix this?
