Windows 10: The application has failed to start .....

The application has failed to start because its-side-by-side configuration is incorrect ---- I clicked on google photos an rhis is what showed up. What is this from?

It is possible that you received the error message The application has failed to start because its side by side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace. exe tool for more detail due
to wrong configuration settings or software conflicts. To assist you better, we'd like to gather more information:

• Have you made any recent changes prior to this issue?
• Which build and version of Windows 10 are you using?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far aside from uninstalling then reinstalling the app?

Any response will be highly appreciated.

 

Explorer.exe, Werfault.exe, RuntimeBroker.exe (application errors). start wont come up and application errors wont go

• Have you created another user account as suggested in the step 2?

Applications Fail to Start with Kernelbase.dll error

• Have you tried creating a new profile (Method 3) from the previous post?
  
• Are you facing this same issue with all the applications or it is specific to Quicken application?
  

Please follow the steps mentioned below and let us know the results.

Method 1: Check for updates.


I would suggest you to check if you have installed all the updates on the computer. There are chances that you might have pending updates as the system is in 1803 version.

Open the Settings page > Go to Update and Security> Click on
Check for Updates. Once the updates are installed, restart the pc and check for the issue.

Method 2: Repair the quicken application.


If the issue is specific to ‘Quicken’ application, I would suggest you to repair the application or reinstall it.


Method 3: Run System File Checker.

If still you are facing the issue, then you can try
running a System File Checker
[SFC] scan on the computer which will replace the missing or corrupt files & check if the issue persists.
