Windows 10: The bold font too thick after changing the system font.

Hey!


I was wondering why after changing the system font style to a custom font using the registry method, the bold variation of the font across my system was *really* thick refer to examples. Even websites like Instagram shows the bold names as really thick even when the websites aren't using the custom font in their UI. I went back and forth using different custom fonts and comparing to the default settings and I'm still stuck on why it's so thick. I've been scouring through the internet for a solution but to no avail.


Is there any way to at least make it less thick? Or control the thickness?

This issue may have been caused by a Windows 10 update that changed your font settings automatically. If you recently updated your operating system, we suggest that you follow these steps to see if the font will go back to normal:

• Type font in the search bar.
• Select Change Font settings.
• Click Restore default font settings.

Bold font

unfortunately that didn't help. I'm still getting that bold font. I'm not sure which it is but Arial seems to be the go to font. I tried to uninstall the Bold one and was unable to do so. They said it was protected. Any other suggestions?
