Attempting to install an app NOT recommended by Microsoft, but it’s one I trust from Garmin. When I try to install it says I have to change my settings for where i can get my apps from. But when I go to the “Advanced app settings”, that option isn’t available. It only displays “Share across devices”, “Archive apps”, and “App execution aliases”.Why is it not available for me so that I can change that preference. I’m logged in as the admin, but that option is unavailable.

    :)

  2. No ' Choose where to get apps' option on Windows 11

In Windows 11, the option to "Choose where to get apps" has been relocated to a different section in the settings. Here's how you can access it:

    1. Open the Start menu by clicking on the Windows icon in the taskbar.
    2. Click on the "Settings" icon, which resembles a gear and is located above the Power button.
    3. In the Settings window, click on "Apps" in the left-hand menu.
    4. On the right-hand side, click on "Apps & features."
    5. Scroll down and click on the "Advanced options" link under the list of installed apps.
    6. In the Advanced options, you should see the "Choose where to get apps" section, which allows you to select the source for installing apps. By default, it is set to the Microsoft Store.
If you're not seeing the "Choose where to get apps" option in the Advanced options section, it's possible that your Windows 11 installation or specific settings might be causing this issue. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Ensure that your Windows 11 installation is up to date. Go to Settings > Windows Update and check for any available updates. Install any pending updates and restart your computer if necessary.
    2. Check for any pending driver updates for your HP laptop. Visit the HP support website or use HP's support assistant software to check for and install any available driver updates.
    3. If you're still not seeing the option, you can try running the Windows Store Apps troubleshooter to identify and fix any issues related to the Microsoft Store. To do this, go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters. Look for "Windows Store Apps" and click on it to run the troubleshooter.
    4. Consider reinstalling the AVG security application. If the issue persists, it may be worth uninstalling and reinstalling the AVG security software to ensure a proper installation.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, it's recommended to reach out to HP support or the support team of the AVG security application for further assistance. They will have access to specific troubleshooting steps and can provide guidance tailored to your situation.

Please note that Windows 11 is a relatively new operating system, and certain functionalities and settings may vary or undergo changes through updates. It's always a good idea to consult the latest documentation or seek support from the relevant software or hardware manufacturer when encountering specific issues.

No 'Edit with Photos' option available in Windows 11

Hi, when you right-click an image file in Windows Explorer, do you get the "Open with" menu option where Photos is part of the list? If it's not one of the suggested options, you should be able to select it through "Choose another app" and also make it the default app to open image files.
