Windows 10: The colour or contrast on my desktop PC keeps changing automatically and I can't stop it.

So when I launch a specific PC game via Steam Rocket League, my PCs colour or display automatically changes to what seems to be a higher contrast. Now usually after I close the game, it returns back to normal. Just recently it has stopped returning to normal after I close the game and even after restarting my PC it switches back into that higher contrast display mode. I can sort of disable it when I right click on the desktop and click "Display settings". But not always and it seems to randomly change back to the higher contrast. I don't appear to have have any HDR settings enabled so I'm ju

Desktop colours not returning to normal

This seems like a stupid question but I can`t find the answer on the web. Recently bought my first lcd monitor and I`ve noticed that unlike crt monitors , the desktop colours change when you launch a game and don`t return to the desktop settings unless you open Catalyst cc. This is with an ati card . With an nvidia card on the same monitor , the driver seems to do this for you.

Things that I`ve already tried :
1 Use the monitor to adjust brightness settings - doesn`t get the colours I want.
2 Somebody suggested using powerstrip , but I couldn`t get it to work.

Is this obvious , or do you really have to open ccc every time you close a game ???!!!

Suggest to check your High Contrast setting. See if it is turned On.
Settings > Personalisation > right side, High Contrast Settings > under Use High Contrast, is it turned on ?
