Windows 10: The content in the Windows10 Notepad window is jammed up against the left margin with zero...

When using Notepad in Windows10, the content is jammed up against the left, there is zero padding, and that makes it difficult to read. There doesn't seem to be a way to alter the padding. Please don't tell me about the page setup because that only alters how the content gets printed on the page, and not how it appears in the application window.

Notepad has always been like this - you can only set margins at print time.

I noticed after the Creators update that the left and top margins in Notepad are now set to zero, as seen in the attached screenshot. There is no margin at all between the edge of the Notepad window and the text. It's not a death blow to my work flow, but it's certainly annoying, not to mention just plain wrong, lol.

We tried to replicate the issue but we cannot find any settings that would adjust that little space before the first letter on your notepad. Nevertheless, we recommend that you perform the following steps to reset the settings of notepad to its default:

• Make sure that Notepad is closed before you proceed.
  
• In Cortana, type Regedit.
• Select HKEY_CURRENT_USER.
• Look for SOFTWARE and double-click.
• Select Microsoft.
• Look for the folder Notepad and right-click.
• Select Delete and click Yes.
• Close the Registry Editor window.

After performing the following steps, you can open again your notepad file and check if you now have that little space before the first letter.
