Windows 10: The current driver on your PC may be better than the driver we are trying to install.......

Hi,


When I check for Windows updates, I get the captionned message.





I have no idea what driver it relates to. How can I verify this?


Note that I run Win10 Pro ver. 2004. My PC is a Lenovo Legion Y520T-251CZ and is healthy when I check for updates using the Lenovo Vantage application.

Hello, I am currently running build 1709 on a desktop and I am trying to upgrade to 1909 to be able to download the xbox app. However, I have been coming into this error for months.

A current driver on your PC may be better than the driver we're trying to install. We'll keep trying to install.

I've ran the troubleshooter and just about every other tip on the internet.

I did find a list of drivers in the "setupapi.dev" in the windows inf folder, I just don't know how to read it.

I am trying to update my laptop to Windows 10 1903 but keep seeing the error "A current driver on your PC may be better than the driver we're trying to install. We'll keep trying to install."

How do I find out which driver is affecting the Windows10 update, so I can uninstall it

 

Windows 7 wont install drivers

i dont think anyone here understands what your asking either when its nearly a 90% english dominated Tech forum.
Step 1
reinstall windows from scratch
Step 2
install all drivers from the cd that came with the god damn motherboard *common sense*
Step 3
update windows
Step 4
install misc etc crap like flash java etc etc
Step 5
Install GPU drivers
Step 6
go back to using your pc without issue.
