Windows 10: The data usage on my laptop showed that 'system' had consumed more than 70 gb of data in...

The data usage on my laptop showed that 'system' had consumed more than 70 gb of data in the past 1 month. I do not believe that my laptop went through any major software update that may warrant such a high usage. This has never happened before. Can someone please explain whats going on.

Nope. It says 30 days but I had reset the usage to zero 3 days prior to the date showing 8.77 GB. That was only 3 days of usage. Before I had reset it to zero, it showed 107GB over 30 days.

Today, it shows 19.69GB. That's another 3 days. So system is using too much.

We appreciate the additional information that you have provided. As the screenshot shows, System has used only 8.77 GB of data usage which is the estimated calculation for 30 days. The details that show that the data is for the past 30 days can be seen on
the Overview page before clicking on Data usage. These data usage could have been acquired if there are downloaded updates on your computer.

System consume more data

Every time I check the built in data usage information under PC settings, I find 3-4 gbs of data usage for "system". I'm running windows 10 home edition, connected by mobile hotspot and have disabled all background
apps and data collection. I have also disabled the window update under services and gpedit.msc but still consume more data .I have also set the wifi property as metered connection
