Windows 10: The DELL folder is missing and its components are in the Desktop folder.

Hey actually my Dell folder were missing in my c drive. There was a problem after that I was changed software installation path from c drive to D drive. Then I were see that my Dell folder is missing and it's all component are show on desktop.

So originally the desktop, pictures, and video folder was located in my d: drive but they were also located in the DELL folder in Users in the C: drive and I think that the laptop was making the ones in the D: drive the original. But there was no desktop in the C: drive. So when I tried to change the location of the Desktop folder to "C:/Users/DELL, the DELL folder was gone and the desktop folder was where the DELL folder was supposed to be and all the things in the DELL folder were in the Desktop folder. And when I tried to change the location from properties, there was no location tab. As you can see in the screenshot, all the folders and files which were in the DELL folder are now on my desktop. And also the documents folder, pictures folder, and the videos folder is still in a folder named Dell in the D: drive.

Thank you for the screenshot, your Dell folder has been merged with your Desktop

Open File Explorer, then navigate into your user folder inside C:\Uses

Inside your user folder, create a new folder and name it Desktop

Then drag any files and shortcuts that should be on your Desktop into that new folder you created.

Close File Explorer.

Open the Registry Editor again, it will still be on the same page

On the right side, double click Desktop, set its Value Data to this and click OK

%USERPROFILE%\Desktop

Close the registry Editor and restart(not shut down) your PC to apply that change

That will have separated your Desktop into that new folder you have created.

 

Trouble deleting a folder

Thanks for the suggestion but it says "delete folder failed for E:\....." for each folder I try.
