I am having an issue for a few months now.It restarts my computer unexpectedly if I'm coding, playing games or in class. Here's the error - The device HID-compliant headset location unknown is offline due to a user-mode driver crash. Windows will attempt to restart the device 5 more times. Please contact the device manufacturer for more information about this problem. It always comes in the ADMINISTRATIVE EVENT VIEWER after the unexpected crash. This used to happen in Windows 11 first, and I hoped that if I would update to WIN 11, this error would be gone forever... But it didn't go.Please he

HID compliant headset crashing causing windows to freeze

The HID-compliant headset driver is crashing usually while im gaming and causing my screen to go black and not registering any input. This link is people having a similiar problem but none of the fixes listed worked for me.

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...-headset/0a5c6685-188f-4b67-9450-196cbd4a1a0f

I even tried resetting windows but the crashes are still happening.

This is whats shown in the event viewer:

The device HID-compliant headset (location (unknown)) is offline due to a user-mode driver crash. Windows will attempt to restart the device 5 more times. Please contact the device manufacturer for more information about this problem.

This error also appears just before the crash in the event viewer:

The RasMan service depends on the SstpSvc service which failed to start because of the following error:

    The operation completed successfully.

Computer reboots HID-compliant headset driver crash

    Hi,

I have this very annoying issue. When I run a specific game (flight sim 2020) I get a reboot. It is 100% reproduceable and has never happened before with any other software. Generally it will happen when either on the main menu or the moment I have started a mission.

I have spent a bit of time on the issue, originally suspecting it was a power supply, I borrowed one as a test and got a reboot straight away, I have removed all overclocks and checked temps, but the thing is I generally get a reboot on the main menu, before the game has even started so its not likely due to load.

I did some digging in the event viewer and this is what I get each time:

The device HID-compliant headset (location (unknown)) is offline due to a user-mode driver crash. Windows will attempt to restart the device 5 more times. Please contact the device manufacturer for more information about this problem.A problem has occurred with one or more user-mode drivers and the hosting process has been terminated. This may temporarily interrupt your ability to access the devices. The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

What I did was, disconnect my headset, reboot the computer, (leave it disconnected) and disable all HID compliant devices from control panel, start the game and boom reboot again (although I did not get the HID error in event viewer this time). Infact I went and unplugged all USB devices from my computer and still got the reboot.

I really feel like the HID driver is causing the problem, even after removing from control panel its still causing a conflict.

    Win10 ver 21H1 OS build 19043.1288

    Windows freezing/restarting, HID-compliant headset problem

I'm having recurrent problems with this HID-compliant driver, which continues to broke and freeze my PC, usually while gaming. My headset is a Razer Kraken 7.1 V2.

At this link, we have another guys having the same problem with another headset. This is a Windows bug/problem, for sure. So, if anyone knows how to fix it, help me out. Thank you.
