The Dreaded Win 10 Deactivation Message

So, as many have in the past, I updated my system about 2 weeks ago to the latest updates. Almost immediately, I started noticing that apps wouldn't load when I clicked on the icons on the taskbar. Then I tried opening a couple of apps that would open and then immediately shutdown. Finally, yesterday I got the message essentially saying I needed to activate windows. I have scoured the internet trying to find solutions, and still nothing. Apparently, Microsoft is still not fixing the issue. I upgraded to Win 10 when they forced folks too from Win7. I still have my WIN 7 product key, but it does not work because when it upgraded a new WIN 10 digital key was added to the system. I have tried looking it up, repairing, restoring, and everything else under the sun except a clean wipe. And I don't even know if that will fix the problem since the restorations didn't work. I attempted to get support online, but apparently you can no longer talk to someone via the internet you have to go back to 1990 and call someone on the phone? WTH? So, if one of Microsoft's friendly support staff would kindly post a solution here that would be nice. If you aren't MS staff and have a solution that is different from everything that has already been posted a million times please feel free to provide that information. I am really really frustrated with MS right now. I refuse to have to buy a new license when the license I had was valid before their fakakta update! This is just ridiculous!

    :)

Error Message when updating from Win-7 to Won-10

    Bree
I followed your suggestions (2nd Aug 19) for installing Win-10. Made the bootable flash drive successfully through the media creation tool. But when I attempted to upgrade and activate to Win-10 (64 bit) from within Win-7 (Pro-32 bit), I got the following error message:

Error # OxC1900101-Ox20017. " The installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during BOOT operation"

I read the diagnostics under this error number and carried out the proposed fixes, i.e. update Win-7, uninstall Malwarebyte antivirus, disconnect all external hardware, e.g. printer, scanner, external hard drives. I then tried to repeat the steps to do the upgrade through the Win-10 bootable flash drive as before. Got the same error message.
Appreciate any further comments and suggestions as to (a) what does a failure in the SAFE_OS during boot operation mean, (b) what can I do to solve it. Is this anything to do with the hardware in my computer? I listed these in my first posting above.
    Thanks for any help

Upgrading from win 7 (which has issues) to win 10

I would suggest that you fix the problem first before you even consider upgrading to Win 10.

Please go to Sevenforums and ask the experts to solve your problem.
Make sure you give precise full error message. Not just "dreaded exception message".

    Good luck.

    Deactivate UAC permanently

    Hi Madhuri

    Try this

To deactivate it we execute "msconfig" in Execute. Win + R or in the search engine we write "msconfig" and open "System configuration".

Then we open the "Tools" tab and in the list that will appear we click on "Change UAC configuration".

After it is selected, a button will appear at the bottom that says "Start", we will click on it and a window will appear.

Here we just slide the bar to "Do not notify me ever", and click "OK" *.

From then on, messages from the control of user accounts will not appear again, and to re-activate them, we only reverse these steps.

    I hope it helps you
