I am trying to install the latest update of Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable x86 but each time I am greeted with this error message. Things I have tried to do for fixing is completely removing all installations of Microsoft Visual C++ and start from scratch. This only caused many of my programs to not work anymore and it did not fix the issue with installing so I reverted back to a restore point.Another thing to note that this does not only happen on Microsoft Visual C++ but the exact same error showed up when trying to install Express VPNs desktop application.

CD-ROM not reading any disks

  DVD/CD-ROM to work properly. Here are the steps on how to run the troubleshooter:
  • Type Troubleshoot in the search box and press Enter.
  • Select Hardware and Devices.
  • Click Run the troubleshooter.
  • Allow the scan to complete, and then follow the on-screen instructions to complete the fix.
• Try another CD/DVD for further isolation. If your device was able recognize other
  CD/DVD then the issue is not hardware related.

Cd Rom / Dvd Writer

Hi,

I have both Samsung CD ROM & LG DVD Writer(Both are internal). Since some days CD ROM is getting opened and trying to get closed all by its own.

I removed the power cord of CD ROM & again connected. This time it is not showing both the drives. It is showing only 1 drive and if i right click on that drive and select eject, both the drives are getting opened.

Is it anything related to virus? Do i need to install OS once again.

Pls Suggest

  Have you checked the CD in a different computer? What is the status?

  Does this issue specific to any particular CD?
  

I suggest you to clean the disk and try again. Check if it helps.

If the issue persists, Uninstall and reinstall the device from Device Manager. To do so, follow these steps.

• 
  Press Windows + X on the keyboard and select
  Device Manager.
  
• 
  Find the DVD/CD-ROM drives and expand it. Now, right click on it select
  Uninstall.
  
• 
  Restart the computer and Windows should reinstall the device.
  

Make sure you have the latest Windows Updates installed. Also check for the optional updates which may have the required drivers for the device.
