Windows 10: The Folder Path "Microsof" Contains an Invalid Character

Hello, I've been having difficulty with my computer lately. Every time I try to use an Install Wizard, it immediately gets blocked with an error saying "The Folder Path "Microsof" Contains an Invalid Character."

Is there any way I can fix this? I can't quite figure out how to.

The folder path '?WINDOWS' contains an invalid character

-> Folder names cannot contain a question mark.

I modified the registry as directed.

-> What was the registry hack you applied?

Please do this:

1. Mark the code line below, then press Ctrl+C to copy it.

4. Open the desktop file Env.txt and copy its contents into your reply.

Error 1324. The folder path '?WINDOWS' contains an invalid character

I've purchased a new HP and when installing the software from the old system I get "Error 1324. The folder path '?WINDOWS' contains an invalid character" while installing office and intuit QB.

Intuit spent 3 hrs trying and was unsuccessful. I myself have tried for 3 days now with no success either. Ran all of the test and repairs and modified the registry as directed with still no success.

I even believed it was an issue with windows installer but everything else installs completely with no errors.

 

Invalid Character in path Program Files

Since upgrading to Windows 10, when I try to update a program that exists on my computer, I get an error: The folder path 'Program Files' contains an invalid character. I've tried to go in and uninstall the program, tried repairing it, too, and get the
same error. This has happened with two different programs. What can I do, short of downgrading to Windows 7 or 8?
