  1. The "Help" function is not always available from Excel.

Very often a message appears "Oops, something went wrong. Please check your network connection and try again".While my internet connection works fine on all other applications, the "Help" function inside Excel is not always available to search formulas and learn more about something. This is costing me a huge amount of time and the results are not always reliable. I usually log out from my Microsoft account and log back in again. Sometimes this works, sometimes not. Here are my machine detailsThe "Help" function is not always available from Excel. :Device name Gatekeeper-of-the-Abyss Processor IntelR CoreTM i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.59 GHz In

Help needed with Excel Attendance Sheet

You use the Data tab, Data validation facility to do this.

If you want a coherent explanation then look in Excel Help. Here's the relevant extract from Excel 2007 Help. Excel 2007 Help - Data Validation.pdf

    My example:
    - I have written them in what seems to me to be the order of easiest explanation.
    - You'd actually set them up in the reverse order - step 3, step 2, step 1.

1 The result - my dropdown list. I select the cell then click on the dropdown arrow that appears next to it.

2 To set this up, select the whole column [or individual cells] where you want the dropdown to appear then click on the Data tab then the Data validation control. You need to
    - select In-cell dropdown
    - set the Allow entry to List
    - in Source, enter the worksheet name & cell range where you have written the allowable entries - you will generally want to use absolute cell references such as those shown [$ in a cell address means absolute and will not vary as you copy the formula all the way down your column - look this up if you are not familiar with it because it needs a bit of getting used to].

3 Write out the list of allowable entries that will appear in your dropdown list.

VBA code to simulate Excel LET function? use LET before available

Hi there @sunny123 perhaps for those who don't know or haven't understood the LET function -- this explains it : The New Excel LET Function: How to Use It & Why You'll Love it I'd assume that any version of EXCEL (alternatives to Ms OFFICE) that doesn't have some sort of "in line coding --e.g VBA type of thing) or abilities to create functions or procedures would be a non starter. However with earlier versions of Ms EXCEL it might be possible to replicate this -- am looking into the possibilities. The Define Name function probably is your best bet for this. Not quite 100% the same but near enough. Create Custom Functions Using Names - MS-Excel Tutorial Cheers jimbo

VBA code to simulate Excel LET function? use LET before available

Hello, if anyone done VBA to simulate LET function, I appreciate where to find this (free or pay) source code if possible. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...f-a5ca994a766a
Helper cell to to contain final code. VBA to convert to LET-less formula for cell ; when LET avails, also only 1 step away (C&P helper to cell). Easier to troubleshoot but need to remove helper
