Issue in Inf Installation in windows 8

Hi team,

I have an inf file when we try to install the inf file in windows 8 we get the error message pop up saying

"The INF file you selected does not support this method of installation



Operation not allowed in WOW64"

I tried below method as wellFrom the installer right click -->properties --> Compatibiliy Tab-->Selected windows 8--> Click OK

Then tried uninstall and reinstall , Still error message pop up appears.

Note:

The same inf file works in windows 7 without any issue's and no error pop up appears.

Kindly help to resolve this issue in priority

Thank you for keeping us posted with the update and we appreciate the time and effort you have put in to resolve the issue.

The error INF file does not support this method of installation occurs when the product you have probably doesn't match your operating system. Hence, installing drivers in compatibility mode usually helps under these circumstances. However, if
it still does not helps, follow the below suggested methods and check if it helps to resolve the issue.

Method 1

Follow these steps to run the Windows in built troubleshooter to check if it helps to identify any issues or possibly fix it

a) Write Troubleshooting in the search box and hit enter.

b) Click on Troubleshooting
tab.

c) Click on view all option on the upper left corner.

d) Select the Hardware and Device
option from the list.

e) Click Next to run the Hardware and Device
Troubleshooter.

Method 2

I suggest you to can use the device manager settings and check if any Windows update for drivers is available for the monitor in question.

So, I suggest you to, check for Windows update to look for latest drivers for devices installed in your computer.

INF does not support this method of installation

I have a LG23ET63VB monitor. Recently I changed laptops and using Lenovo G40.

The monitor will operate, however, it will no longer allow touchscreen. I am using Windows 10.

The error statement says-

INF file does not support this method of installation.

Second message says-

The style of the INF is different than what was requested.

I contacted LG and they said to contact Microsoft for the solution.

Anyone have a solution?
