Windows 10: The Intel Display Audio is corrupted or not working properly for my mic. Is there a solution?

I got this new computer from CHUWI, and recently did some driver updates. When I tried to use the mic, it showed no volume coming through it. I used the troubleshooter, and it said nothing was wrong. I even restored the driver, thinking it might have been the wrong driver, and it still did nothing. Will someone help? I'll post computer details:

This might occur when some of the mic setting got corrupted.

I would suggest you to try running Recording audio troubleshooter.

Follow the below steps:

• 
  Type Troubleshooting in the Search area on the taskbar and select
  Troubleshooting.
  
• 
  Select Hardware and Sound.
  
• 
  Select Recording Audio under
  Sound and follow the on screen.

Corrupt cortana not displaying properly

As per my below image, when I open cortana the display does not look right. There are three options under "can I be of assistance?" (or one of the other sayings things it puts there) which only become visible when I hover over them. I don't believe this is the proper behavior. Also in the "pick up where I left off" section it just oddly shows icons of the program I was using and doesn't give the name of the file. I don't believe this is the correct behavior either. Clicking on one of the icons opens up a recent file.

I tried following these steps with no luck - Reinstall and Re-register Cortana in Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials

Any other suggestions are welcome.

Help realTek Audio App isn't Working Solved

I followed the steps under sound in the device manager it's 'Intel R Desplay Audio' and my mic/headset usb. no intel-hd was listed.

There was no 'unknown device' in the list either.

What's next?
