Windows 10: The internal microphone in the sound control panel crashes whenever i click it or right...

I cant use my microphone because it crashes everytime i click it or right click it. Please help!

Headphone, earphone and microphone are not in Sound Control Panel.

Windows 10 64 bit








Stereo mix and line & mic at front or rear panel don't work too.

I somehow managed to get my headphone to play the same thing as my speaker at the same time but that's as far as i got.

 

The internal microphone is switched on. How do I disable it?

I suggest you to try the steps below and check if it helps.

a. Press Windows Logo Key and X on the keyboard, select ‘Control Panel’.

b. If it is not sorted by Category click on view by and select Category on the right top corner of the screen. Click on ‘Hardware and Sound’.

c. Click on ‘Sound’.

d. Open the ‘Recording’ tab.

e. Right-click on internal microphone and select disable it.

That could be a case of the wrong microphone system being selected. If that is not the case, it could be failed hardware.

1. Start globe (bottom left)
2. Control Panel
3. Hardware and sound
4. Sound
5. Recording tab

Select among the choices there and try to find the one that works.

Also, within Zoom itself, you should see an arrow on the right side of the microphone icon. Click on that and you should find a selection that might work.

Worst case (hardware failure), the solution is easy and not expensive. Failures of these devices in internal laptops is common. You can buy a nice little webcam (perches on top of your screen) for about $30. Portable, plugs into any USB port. Should
install itself. Almost all of them come with built in microphone.
