  1. The Internet disappears when you connect remotely to a local server

I have a laptop Aspire A315-59, Windows 11 pro.Network Card Model: Mediatek MTK7663.The essence of the problem:I have local servers at work that I am trying to connect to. My computer and the server computer are on the same local network. I want to connect to it remotely. For example, using Windows Explorer or Total Commander. I do it this way:cd \\192.***.**.***\\c$The server explorer opens and everything works, access to the local network remains and I see the server. But Internet access is lost on my PC.I opened cmd and tried to track the moment when the Internet go

Is it possible to share internet connection via remote desktop?

RDP is not capable of Internet sharing, so you can't share Internet using RDP with standard applications. There are many way to share Internet from a Windows box to another one. I suggest you to use VPN. You should do following steps:

    1. Run VPN Server on your server with unlimited internet access
    2. Connect to VPN server from your limited computer

  3. Remote Desktop: How to block connections from the internet f. a user

    Hi,

I would like to know how to block Remote Desktop connections from the internet for a specific user. The user should be able to do Remote Desktop connections from the local network to the server but not from the internet.

I don't want to block remote desktop connections form the internet for all users just for some of them.

How can you even know if a remote desktop connection is comming from the internet or local network? Is there a command you can run or can you check this by using the event viewer on the server?

    Thanks in advance.

  4. The Internet disappears when you connect remotely to a local server

Remote access to my (local) server's folders

I am running a simple local fileserver. Windows based.

I would like to access (load, save, modify) what's on this server when I am away on business trips. Laptop -- internet -- router - server

What is the best way to do this? Setup WebDAV or ftp-server or something else? I would prefer direct access, ie. being able to load/save from an application rather than using ftp as a separate step.
