Hello,Recently Iranian Parliament rejected to move forward an hour for DST and the current and correct time is at: https://time.ir My Windows uses internet time but it is an hour ahead for example now the real time is 05:50 P.M., but Windows says it's 06:50 P.M.. I tried updating and had no updates, I tried manually changing the NTP server and syncing that which synced but the time did not change.I also tried changing the time server from default to other like ntp.ubuntu.com, or what are in https://www.pool.ntp.org/zone/ir and it says it's synced but the time does not get corrected.To

Recent Mexico time zone & DST changes

On the evening of October 28, 2022, the Mexican government published a decree that cancelled the DST changes for the entire country, and moved the time zone for certain regions.

The problem is that the decree took effect on October 30, at midnight.

Basically, the changes are:

• Mexico Central Time (Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey) stays at UTC-6, but removes DST change from April, 2023
  
• Mexico Mountain Time (Chihuahua, Mazatlan, La Paz) stays at UTC-7, but removes DST change from April, 2023
  
  • Chihuahua moves to UTC-6, without DST (this applied Oct. 30)
    
• Some municipalities that border with the US will be using US time zones for now
  

Especially in Chihuahua, it's been a mess with calendars and airlines and everything.

Is Microsoft aware of this change? I looked at the DST Blog and there is no comment about it yet.

Windows 10 Daylight Savings Time Button Grayed Out.

Hi Gary,

This issue may happen if your region or time zone doesn't observe Daylight Saving Time (DST).

To check if DST is available, follow the steps below:

• Press Windows key + S.
• Type Control Panel and press Enter.
• Select Clock, Language, and Region.
• Click Date and Time.
• Under Time zone, check if there's any indications regarding Daylight Saving Time.

We'll keep an eye out for your response.

 

DST messing up calendar appointment times

I'm sad to say the fixes are the usual as well: Ensure the source calendar is set to a proper default time zone, double-check your device's time zone and double-check the time zone on the event itself.

DST issues are extremely hard to diagnose because they happen only twice a year. Anecdotes are not data, but in my professional life whenever I'm diagnosing a DST issue it's because there's something set wrong on the device/calendar/event. My favourite DST
issue was discovering the device's time zone was set to Pacific US & Canada when the user lived in Brisbane, Australia. Brisbane is in a state that does not do DST at all, yet the user never questioned why their events shifted by an hour twice a year. They
just corrected their events. I set their device to the right time zone and that was the end of their time zone issues.
