Windows 10: The lack of notifications when ejecting an USB device from Windows 10

We all know what ASSUMING means. Previous Windows used 3rd party apps to EJECT external discs, flash... drive safely as I understand buffers have to be dumped....
But Window 10 does not do that for me so it upsets me to having to waste time always bring up Explorer to confirm as ASSUMING in the ole days would corrupt the device and one could lose all the data.... SO I don't ASSUME.

Does anyone know IF it is MY version of 10 or did Microsoft do a stupid thing by removing it or never installing a very necessary step of conformation.

USB device eject annoying message

Classic USB device, like a classic keychain flash drive, remove from my Windows 2000 SP4 open always this window:





Even I use the sync.exe utility ( http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/fileanddisk/sync.mspx ) with parameters "sync.exe -r -e" with flush and eject the drive. Then I think it is safe to eject the USB device, since I already forced all the data to be written on the device before removing it.

Yet still the message appear.

Any ideas how to disable it?

 

Eject options inconsistent between USB stick and USB external drive - Windows 10

When I want to eject a USB stick I can do it 2 different ways (a) by clicking on the 'Safely remove hardware and eject media' icon in the notification area of the taskbar and selecting the device (b) in File Explorer by right mouse button on the drive letter
for the USB stick and clicking the Eject option

When I want to eject a USB external drive I only have one option, by clicking on the 'Safely remove hardware and eject media' icon in the notification area of the taskbar and selecting the device. In File Explorer if I right mouse button on the drive letter
for the USB external drive, there is no Eject option in the list of options.

Since I am usually in File Explorer when I have either a USB stick or a USB external drive plugged in, it is most natural to me to want to eject from within File Explorer after I have finished with the USB device.

Is there any way to 'switch on' an 'Eject' option within File Explorer for a USB external drive ?

PS this is true for both Windows 10 Home 32 bit and Windows 10 Pro 64 bit
