Windows 10: The latest security update has turned my desktop into a paperweight.

I have only my destop screen picture showing and the blue cirle when I put the mouse indicator on anything near the power settings on the left.


I should be happy, I suppose, since at first all I was getting was a gray screen. I have rebooted several times to no avail. Help?!

2. Type "Settings" without the quotes in the search bar and click on it.

3. Then click on Update & security.

4. Click on Windows Defender.

5. Then try to turn on the Windows Defender services.

Note: If a third party security software is installed on the computer, then it will disable Windows Defender.

Win10: windows update stuck at never ending loop ?

When in win10:

• Update&security -> Windows update -> Finding update... .... .... ....

Planning to download the latest Win10.ISO (vers.1803) and manually update:
- Then wait that my ordered new SSD arrives and clone the old HDD to it.

 

Laptop turns unusable after latest windows 10 update

We have to make sure that the Windows Update is installed properly on your laptop. To check if it is installed already, please follow these steps:

• Press the Win + I buttons.
• Select Update & Security.
• Click View installed update history. The latest update should have been installed and dated last week.

If your laptop does not have the latest update yet, you can manually get the update by following the above steps 1 and 2, then select
Check update.
