The local area network adapter which is responsible for mobile hotspot is not showing up in my pc. The mobile hotspot is stuck on disconnecting. Even reboot is not fixing the problem.

Hi,

To fix the issue, we suggest that you follow these steps:

• Connect your PC to your WiFi.
• Right-click on the WiFi tray and click on Open network and sharing center.
• Click on Change adapter settings which is present at the left side of the window.
• Right-click on your WiFi and click on Properties, then click on the
  Sharing tab.
• Check the box next to Allow other network to connect through this computer's internet and
  Allow other network users to control or disable the shared internet and click
  OK.
  
• Go to Settings > Network & Internet >
  Mobile Hotspot and turn it on.
  
  
• After you turn on the hotspot, go back to the Change adapter settings window. You will find a connection called
  Local area connection* 20. The number 20 may differ.
• Do step 4 again. In Sharing tab below the first checkbox, select the
  Local area connection* 20 from the drop-down.

Mobile Hotspot Problem after Windows 10 Anniversary update

The result of ipconfig / all shows that the ip configuration is now correct. The ip address 192.168.137.1 is now routinely assigned to the Wireless LAN adapter Local Area Connection * 15 So the mobile hotspot should work.

What have you done? Did you follow my instructions that I suggested in my last post?

1-Disable / re-enable the main network adapter?

2-Restore Windows Firewall settings?

You did not answer. To proceed, I need to know if you have done these operations.

Now check in the Network and Sharing Center if the mobile hotspot network in the Access type is internet, or post the screenshot.

Go to the tcp / ipv4 protocol properties of the Wireless LAN adapter Local Area Connection * 15 and check if the IP address is listed, or re-post the screenshot.

We appreciate that you have tried the suggested steps above. Have you tried to connect other devices to the mobile hotspot on your PC?

Since the issue is still the same, we suggest that you uninstall/reinstall the network adapter driver and check if this will resolve the issue. Follow the steps below:

• 
  Press Windows key + X and click on
  Device manager.
  
• 
  Locate for Network adaptor and click on it expand it.
  
• 
  Right click on the device and click on
  uninstall.
  
• 
  Once you are done uninstalling the driver, restart the computer. It will automatically install the generic network adapter driver.
  

We can also update the network adapter driver. Skip step 3 from the above steps and right click on the device and click on update.
