The monitor on my laptop is doesn't work and I'm using HDMI to connect into a TV as my monitor..But the problem now is the TV can't capture any signal when The HDMI is connected to to TV How do I fix this?

Weird problems when trying to connect laptop to a specific TV throuhg HDMI

I´m having an issue when trying to connect my laptop through HDMI to a TV. I recently acquired a license for Windows 10 for an old computer and installed it. I´m not having any other issues except this: When I connect it to my TV, it DOES give signal for a while, but after less than a minute, the TV screen always stops showing the laptop screen and says No Signal. I´ve tried changing the display settings, from Duplicate to Extend and such. When I cange it, the image appears again, and it too after a while has the same problem. And at all times the laptop seems to recognize the TV as connected, but it just gies no signal after a while. I´ve tried to Update the Display Drivers but my computersays eerything is up to date. When I try to run the Display Troubleshooter, it finds that my PCI has no controllers, but when I try to automatically update it, the troubleshooter doesn´t find anything and gives me no option to procede. And to clarify: my computer does work when I plug it into a different TV or monitor. It´s this specific TV that´s causing problems. I´ve tried every HDMI cable on this TV, even the one that does work in another TV, but it still doesn´t work. Also, since this is an old computer, I can´t get Display drivers from the manufacturer directly since they only support Windows 7 in this specific device. Any help would be appreciated.

 

Laptop monitor is black but HDMI to TV works

So, I seem to be having the opposite problem of most. After updating my laptop to windows 10 the laptop monitor basically does not work - it's as if the graphics card does not see it. When I turn the computer on it shows me the dell logo with options to
open the boot settings, and it starts to show the graphics for loading windows and then just goes to a black screen. Like others I thought maybe it's the issue with thinking there's 2 monitors when there really are not because it's acting like my dual monitor
work computer at start-up, but none of the listed fixes worked. I tried to plug the computer into the TV via an HDMI cable and that does work but the laptop monitor goes from a 'light' black to an 'off' black. Of course the computer at that point only thinks
there's one monitor which is the TV when I go into the settings. I've tried every combination of plugging in and pulling out the HDMI at different points in the reboot process but I always end up in the same place of having to plug the laptop into the TV to
use it. It's as if the Intel graphics doesn't see the laptop monitor as an option. I also tried to update the graphics drivers but it says there are no available updates. Anyone else have this problem and a suggested solution so I can move my laptop away
from the TV?!

 

Laptop not recognizing TV through HDMI connection

Hello everyone!

First I do apologize if this is not the correct section for this thread.

I've had issues connecting my laptop to TV for the past day. Connection is done through an HDMI cable. Connection was good up until it randomly turned off itself while playing a game. There have been no hardware or software changes whatsoever that would affect it.

TV is SAMSUNG, Model: UE32J4000AW. Laptop info is available in My PC Specs. (laptop is brand new, week or two old)

Here's what I've tried so far:

• 3 different HDMI cables
• switching between ports on TV
• tried all projection options on Laptop
• Disable / Enable both Intel and Nvidia drivers
• Rollback Intel GPU driver and installed it back to latest version
• Re-installed Nvidia driver
• Restarted PC and TV
• Scan for hardware changes through Device Manager
• Checked Intel and Nvidia control panels - there were no available options
• Apparently both HDMI ports on the TV work as I tried them with a tv box.

I think that's all I've tried so far, will add anything else if missed. Open to suggestions.
