Windows 10: the mouse cursor keeps jumping to random active fields

This is making the whole Windows experience really frustrating.
Since recently, my mouse cursor decided to start jumping to random active fields, for example, while looking at pictures with XN-View, I scroll the wheel to see the next picture, the cursor jumps to the zoom% at the bottom right (a typable text field) and the next mouse wheel scroll will zoom the picture instead of scrolling to the next one.
This kind of behaviour happens all over the OS and is making me go crazy. Is there something I could do to fix this?

Btw, while (unsuccessfully) trying to find a solution I was toying with the mouse settings and I found out that the colour of the cursor is not retained after standby (sleep), I can live with that though.

Jumping mouse cursor

Mouse cursor keeps jumping out of control. I've uninstalled it (there were 3 listed under the mouse device) and then updated the device driver. Didn't fix it. What do I do?

 

Mouse pointer jumps to the text cursor or a random location

Mouse cursor/pointer jumps abruptly from current/last position to the position where the text insertion cursor is on the screen. At times it even jumps to some random location on screen, either at bottom or left top corner.
This issue has been observed almost across all applications (Edge, Excel, OneNote, Firefox, Notepads and even in Feedback Hub).

Also issue occurs while using trackpad as well as external mouse.

Mouse pointer would either jump to middle of text box, in the cell last typed or top left corner (Start Menu)

Till now I have tried all available solution on various internet forums, including changing settings of mouse (hide pointer while typing/enhance pointer precision), re-installing drivers, disable trackpad etc though issues isn't fixed.
Can someone from your side provide some help.

 

Shortcut to activate cursor in MS Access?

What is the keyboard shortcut to activate the cursor in a highlighted field in MS Access?

When I move between fields in table view, the text in the fields is always highlighted in black. What keyboard shortcut do I need to hit in order to 'convert' this highlight into an active cursor, so that I can start typing and adding text without deleting all the existing text in the fields? Without this shortcut, I have to use the mouse every time to put the cursor in the fields, which is an extra time consuming step when adding text to fields.
